CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order @ 5:03 PM
APPROVAL OF AGENDA
Unanimously Approved
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The November 1, 2016 minutes were approved with Blount abstaining.
CHAIRMAN'S REPORT
Public records training next Monday and Tuesday.
Public Hearing scheduled for revisions to Mooring Regulations.
MARINE DEPARTMENT REPORT
30 boats scalloping in harbor; Scallops accumulating in some areas.
NATURAL RESOURCES REPORT
None
PUBLIC COMMENT ON MARINE DEPARTMENT/ NATURAL RESOURCES REPORTS
None - Workshop Session.
OLD BUSINESS
1. Scallop Seed Enforcement Policy distributed by Chair. Comments by Blount (Warden
should review the catch in front of the fisherman) and Brace (Regulatory changes not
needed / Burden should be on Wardens to ensure that there is no doubt about
violation before confiscation).
2. Hazardous Waste Collection - Comments by Lowell: notices in newspaper should in
English and Spanish languages and information should be made available on job
sites about what should go into dumpsters.
3. Discussed need for additional shellfish warden.
4. The Chairman stated that he would write letters regarding need for an additional
shellfish warden, the recommendation that notices of collection of hazardous waste
should also be printed in Spanish and the use of ice melt on sidewalks by business
owners. Upon motion duly made and seconded it was voted that the sending of
letters be approved.
