CALL TO ORDER

APPROVAL OF AGENDA
Mr. Smith asked that his seed area mapping and stranding protocol be taken off the
agenda and put back at a later date.
The motion to approve the December 17, 2013 agenda as amended for the HSAB was
made by Mr. Connors, Seconded by Mr. Smith and unanimously approved
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Motion to approve the December 3'd HSAB minutes was made by Ms McCrae,
seconded by Mr. Smith and unanimously approved
CHAIRMAN'S REPORT
Water quality biologist position: Mr. Brace told the board that he had attended a B.O.S
workshop on December 4 h where the FY /15 expense increases were discussed. Under the
section of new hires there were several part time positions and a full time position for a
water quality town biologist.
W.P.I presentation: This will be given at the community room, 4 Fairgrounds Rd. on
December 18th
MARINE DEPARTMENT REPORT:
No Marine Department report given.
NATURAL RESOURCES REPORT
Jeff Carlson gave the NRD report.
Scallop Season update: Approximately 7,500 -8,000 bushels have been harvested this
season.
Staffing Changes to NRD: A full time water quality biologist position will most likely
be added as well as a part time office administrator.
An assistant biologist will also be filling in for Tara Riley while she is on leave, this
employee will remain with NRD to assist with field work, hatchery management and
possibly lead groups of summer interns and assistants.
