Lipuma arrived @ 5:05 PM) Members Absent: None Staff Present: Police Chief Pittman Public: One person (Kona) was present at beginning of meeting. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order @ 5:03 PM APPROVAL OF AGENDA Approved by all present. APPROVAL OF MINUTES The August 2 minutes were approved by five members without change (J. Lipuma was not present at this time and B. Blount abstained). CHAIRMAN'S REPORT NOAA eelgrass presentation has been postponed; Statement of Commitment has been circulated for execution my Board members; The Chair has spoken to Selectmen Kelly regarding public hearing for proposed slip and mooring regulation amendments. MARINE DEPARTMENT REPORT There was no written report; Chief Pittman delivered the following report: 1. STORM DAMAGE: Two boats were lost to the Monomoy shore during the storm and the CG is working on a recovery plan; all boats at the town pier were moved; erosion on south shore was minimal and all ramps survived. 2. WATER RESCUE PROGRAM: Is the responsibility of the Harbor Master and the town has a CG approved program; Life Guards have USLI Ocean Rescue training and three guards are on call between 5PM and 7PM; recent posting (Monoco) on social media was not correct. 3. Board member Lowell ask about kite surfing on Coatue and the Chief responded that vendor was not permitted to operate on conservation property, but that request for enforcement was the responsibility of the property owner. NATURAL RESOURCES REPORT None PUBLIC COMMENT ON MARINE DEPARTMENT / NATURAL RESOURCES REPORTS None OLD BUSINESS Chair will propose agenda and schedule for mooring review; Lowell and Lipuma requested that Board review hazardous waste disposal program; McClure reported that he will forward response from Natural Resources about Governor Baker's position on funding eel grass propagation projects. NEW BUSINESS None PUBLIC QUESTIONS AND COMMENT None RECAP and ITEMS FOR NEXT MEETING September 20 meeting will be workshop regarding: 1. DPW use of Atomic salt, and 2. Alternative mooring systems.
