Call to Order
Agenda Approved
Minutes of July 21, 2015 approved, as amended.
It was discussed and decided that there would be no meeting on August 18, 2015.
The requested aquaculture update will be provided by Natural Resources at the
September meeting.
Marine Dept. report: none.
Natural Resources, report by Tara Riley: in middle of shellfish work, 20M (scallops) in
hatchery. Have invited public to help, going well. 180K quahogs, put half in harbor
today, half to Madaket. Still doing shell recycling. Fundraising, $750K renovation, need
$200K in equipment. Did fundraiser at a gallery, will have another at Cru. Getting
advice on fundraising. Construction should start in fall. Need money to start. Need total
of $950K, have about $500K. Going to CPC. Town has promised funds but need ATM
approval. Talking with Shellfish Association. Q(Lowell): could people volunteer to do
work? A: will look into.
Old Business: Mooring regs, etc. Brace was unable (too busy) to get questions answered
by Lucey but will by next meeting. Also still needs to track down Ken Kelly.
Recap (Brace): for next meeting- Answers to mooring question, Kelly and code of
conduct.
Tomorrow's BOS meeting- will press for fee change and white button reinstatement.
Next meeting: September 1, 2015.
