Miacomet Golf Course — Cart Path Bid Review ADJOURNMENT MINUTES Nantucket Land Bank Commission Special Meeting of April 6, 2016 Land Bank Meeting Room, 22 Broad Street Nantucket, Massachusetts CALL TO ORDER: 1:05 p.m. PRESENT: Robert Gardner, Richard Glidden, Neil Paterson, Allen Reinhard, John Stackpole. STAFF PRESENT: Eric Savetsky, Executive Director; Jesse Bell, Assistant Director; Susan Campese, Administrator /Finance Manager. Jeffrey Dugas, Wellspeak Dugas & Kane, LLC GolfAdvisory Group, was also present at call to order. CONVENE IN OPEN SESSION A. GOLF BUSINESS 1. Golf Consultant Interview — Wellspeak Dugas & Kane Golf Advisory Group: The Commission listened to a presentation from Mr. Dugas outlining his qualifications and general approach to assessing the current business model of Miacomet Golf Course. The Commission asked various questions about time table and experience with different business models. Mr. Dugas expressed his eagerness to work on the project and thanked the Commission for their time. Mr. Dugas departed at 1:3Op. m. 2. Miacomet Golf Course — Cart Path Bid Review: Ms. Bell presented the single bid received for the cart path project from Victor - Brandon Corporation for $530,631. After some discussion, upon a motion made by Commissioner Gardner and duly seconded by Commissioner Paterson, it was unanimously VOTED to reject the bid based on the price exceeding the estimate bL. $130,000. Further, Commissioner Gardner presented pictures of the current paths which seemed to be draining well and suggested contacting Peter Hull to give an estimate on repairing troubled spots and maintaining the paths for the season including applying magnesium flakes as needed for dust control. The consensus of the Commission was to continue discussions once an estimate for maintenance is received. 3. Miacomet Golf Course — Cart Barn Landscaping Discussion: Mr. Savetsky reported that after reviewing the landscape plans approved at the last meeting, he met with Sean Oberly and suggested eliminating one of the small parking areas and adding screening to help hide the cart wash down area from the road. Mr. Savetsky further indicated that Mr. Oberly and Mr. Costa were in favor of the proposed modification. The Commission voiced no concerns.
