Others Present: None. The meeting was called to order at 3:00. Miacomet Clubhouse and Facilities — Update: The consensus of the committee was to tell the architect to site the cart barn on the west side of the clubhouse and keep the existing housing in place. The current sketches for the clubhouse are for 16,625 of finished space on three floors which translates to approximately $8,000,000. Mr. Costa told the committee that they need more carts so he would like to see the cart barn built soon so there would be a place to store and charge them. Commissioner Paterson said he thought the cart barn could be built quickly and pointed out that as a gesture of good will he will recommend that the Land Bank pay the architect bills for the cart barn. Miacomet Golf Course (MGC) Driving Range renovation — Update: Mr. Oberly said he did not have the time, nor did MGC have the money to renovate the driving range at this time and he would revisit the project next year. Mr. Savetsky asked that natural turf be considered rather than artificial targets. Tee Times Discussion: Mr. Costa said MGC was really struggling with tee times due to the change in hours and the large wedding parties in the fall. He continues to encourage members to go to Sconset Golf, but it is an ongoing problem. Equipment Needs — Discussion: Mr. Oberly feels he is in good shape for equipment for at least three years due to the Toro lease, with the exception of a pick -up truck with towing capacity to run equipment back and forth to Sconset Golf Course (SGC). After some discussion, it was the consensus of the Committee to recommend the purchase of a new pick -up truck for MGC to the Commission. Further, Mr. Savetsky will provide the vehicle state bidding contract information to Mr. Oberly to begin the procurement process. Sconset Golf Course — Storage Building: Commissioner Gardner asked if a new cold storage building would be a better solution at SGC rather than the existing building and Quonset hut. Mr. Oberly said once the cart barn at MGC and the SGC clubhouse were complete he would come back with a long term recommendation for storage at SGC. SGC Putting Green — Discussion: Mr. Oberly requested building a small putting area next to the clubhouse after the outside of the clubhouse building is complete. He said his crew could do the work for under $10,000 with some soil purchased and a few irrigation heads added. Employee Gratuity— Discussion: Commissioner Paterson mentioned some negative feedback from several members regarding the employee gratuity charge on their accounts. Mr. Costa explained why they instituted the practice and how it worked. Mr. Savetsky suggested he bring the information to the Land Bank meeting as such new policies should be taken to the Commission. MGC Vehicle Accident — Discussion: Mr. Costa reported a member /employee had struck a vehicle with a golf cart with minor damage to the vehicle but significant damage to the cart. Mr. Oberly told the Commission that the bushes would be trimmed back to prevent future accidents and a MGC employee was able to fix the minor damage to the members vehicle. The meeting adjourned.
