NANTUCKET TOWN CLERK
Minutes of the Meeting of September 4, 2013. The meeting took place in the
Training Room of the Nantucket Police Station, 4 Fairgrounds Road, Nantucket,
MA 02554. Members of the Board present were: Rick Atherton, Robert DeCosta,
Bruce Miller, Matthew Fee, Tobias Glidden and Jeanette Topham. Chairman
Atherton opened the meeting at 5:53 p.m.
Report from Finance and Audit Committee on FY13 Audited Financial
Statements. Mr. Atherton reported Bruce Noding, NRTA Auditor reported no
defects in the FY13 Audited Financial Statements and there were positive
management comments.
Accept FY13 Audited Financial Statements. Mr. DeCosta moved to accept the
FY13 Audited Financial Statements; seconded by Mr. Glidden. So voted.
Appoint Community for Rider Board Representative. Paula Leary, NRTA
Administrator explained that Section 51 of recently passed transportation
legislation requires one representative of the rider community population shall
serve on the advisory board as a voting member for a term of one year. The
Town Manager shall appoint a community ride for this purpose from a list of t
least five persons nominated by the Massachusetts AFL -CIO. Even though the
NRTA only serves on community, Nantucket, the Board must vote that
community. Mr. Glidden moved to appoint Nantucket as the member community
for the rider board representative; seconded by Mr. DeCosta. So voted. Ms.
Leary will send a letter to the Massachusetts AFL -CIO informing them of the
Boards vote.
Mr. DeCosta moved adjournment of the NRTA Advisory Board; seconded by Mr.
Miller. The meeting unanimously adjourned at 6:56 p.m.
