The minutes of the Feb 17th meeting were approved
7 Judith Chase Lane -There was a discussion of the application to and
decision of the HDC at their most recent meeting. The HDC denied the
application. That decision was required to be filed within one week. The
HDC failed to file. There is confusion about the final outcome.
Medouie Creek —Susan Handy had leaned that a subdivision was
approved years ago of many acres in the area. Susan will research how
the NHC should become part of the process when an undisturbed area of
obvious archeological interest was about to undergo a change. One
thought was to simply become an item on the building permit. A definition
of what those circumstances might be will be defined based on Susan's
research. The flow might be test pits by a person to evaluate the soil,
checking for arrowheads, signs of habitation or a grave, from simply
scraping the soil to excavation full scale, to an area that cannot be
disturbed.
The St. Paul's Historic Preservation Restriction is complete and is filed in the
office of Mark Voigt the Director of the HDC.
Kevin Kuester met with the superintendent of school who agreed to have
the students make green benches for the town using material supplied by
the DPW.
It was suggested that the Design Advisory Committee have a meeting
either before or after the NHC meetings since it was made up of the some
members.
