Call to Order: Mr. Beaugrand called the meeting to order at 3:17PM
Approval of Agenda: Mr. Larivee made a motion to amend the agenda and add Housing
Nantucket's PSR for $31,271.25 as item H to fund requisition. Mr. Bmnnigan made a second
motion to amend the agenda and add: Update on Nobadeer Farm Playing Fields to old business.
Ms Damon made a third motion to amend the agenda and add: Update on Higginbotham House
to old business.
Chairman Beaugrand reiterated all three amendments to the agenda then accepted a final motion
to approve the amended agenda. Mr. Lari a made a motion to approve the amended agenda,
seconded by Mr. Brannigan; positive vote ed.
Approval of Minutes: Ms Dunton commented generally on how minutes are observed and
recorded. Mr. Larivee made a motion to approve the minutes for December 18, 2012, seconded
by Mr. Rector; positive vote followed.
Correspondence: Mr. Rector asked the Chairman to reinstmet the CPC Office to circulate
everything on the agenda electronically, including all correspondence, to all committee members
prior to the meeting.
Letter from Jane Karakula, RE: Thank You for "recommending us to be awarded funds for our
restoration project FY2014." Mr. Beaugrand reviewed the letter then made it available to other
members.
Guests: Michael Cozort- Superintendent of Nantucket Public Schools and Barry Datong,
Director of Facilities - Nantucket Public Schools, RE: To discuss the completion of Backus
Lane.
Mr. Cozort introduced himself and Mr. Datong then stated that his reason for being at the CPC
meeting is to discuss the completion of Backus Lane. A visual hardcopy of an area behind the
Skate Park was handed out and Mr. Cozort and Mr. Dulong explained that the intention is to use
the area for storage for the schools. He explained that it was recommended at a Capital
Committee meeting that he meet with the CPC before going forward. After providing more
details on the schools' intention for the area, Mr. Cozort explained that funds are being sought
from the Capital Committee and also explained that he wanted to check with the CPC
beforehand because of the CPC's role in building the Backus Lane Skate Park.

The next regular meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 in the Training Room of
the Public Safety Building at 3:15pm located on 2nd floor at 4 Fairgrounds Road, Nantucket, MA.
