Forum Agenda Welcome Ken Beaugrand, CPC Chair Mr. Brannigan called the Forum to order at 4:35PM and introduced the CPC Chairman, Ken Beaugrand for the welcoming address. Mr. Beaugrand addressed the forum attendees thanking them all for coming to the required annual meeting. He then went on to introduce all the CPC Members that were present. Mr. Beaugrand gave an overview of the agenda and thanked Mr. Brannigan for all the hard work that went into getting the forum together. He then reintroduced the Vice - chairman who continued as master of ceremony. There were approximately 80 children and adults in attendance. Open Remarks CPC Updates / FY'14 Application & Deadline Richard Brannigan, Vice Chair Vice - chairman Richard Brannigan greeted the forum attendees then proceeded to thank all the donors for their donations to the forum, raffle, and refreshments. A wide range of community organizations, companies, and individuals willingly gave CPC contributions such as: Nantucket Student Soccer Association, Stop & Shop, Island Variety, and others. Mr. Brannigan then explained the importance of the forum and elaborated on why the forum was held at The New Nobadeer Farm Playing Fields. He also talked about how the CPC was established and gave many examples of different projects that have received CPC funds. Mr. Brannigan talked about the Fiscal Year 2014 application and stressed the September 14, 2012, 4:OOPM deadline at 14 Easy Street. Afterwards, Mr. Brannigan introduced Mr. Manchester to talk more about the fields. Guest Speaker Jimmy Manchester Mr. Manchester talked about the New Nobadeer Farm Playing Fields project in depth. He gave an overview of the fields and talked about the accomplishments and roadblocks the project had reached thus far. Mr. Manchester also shared future expectations on different features expected at the playing fields such as a building/structure that will support the complex. Finally, he reiterated several times that the New Nobadeer Farm Playing Fields were closed, but expected to be open by July 2013. Questions & Answers All CPC Members Mr. Brannigan opened the meeting to questions from the audience. Representatives from 'Sconset Trust and Nantucket Rental Assistance Program and other organizations thanked the CPC for its hard work, asked questions about FY'14 funding, and offered advice to new applicants. Some parents asked questions about the fields and on other CPC projects that promote recreation. Throughout the Q &A session different CPC members responded to questions and before concluding Mr. Brannigan asked all attendees to get ONE raffle ticket. Raffle /Refreshments Raffle prizes were awarded to many in attendance and refreshments were enjoyed by all. Families and children then proceeded to play ball and fly kites in the new field. Donations were received from the following organizations: Nantucket Student Soccer Association, Island Variety, Stop & Shop, Easy Street Cantina, Nantucket Island Resorts (NIR), Nantucket Student Lacrosse, Island Rebekah Lodge #24, and the Seagrille Restaurant. The next regular meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 in the Community Room of the Public Safety Building at 3:15pm located on 1n floor at 4 Fairgrounds Road, Nantucket, MA.
