Minutes of the meeting of September 2.2010: The meeting took place at
3:30pm at 2 Fairgrounds Road, Nantucket, MA 02554
I. Members Present: Dorothy Hertz, chair., Linda Barrett, sec., John Belash, Sue
Marques, Augie Ramos, Mary Wawro (present via phone 3:59pm)
Members Absent: Linda Williams
Staff Present: Maryanne Worth, Ann Medina (4:01)
Members of Public Present: Whitey Willauer (4:04pm BOS)
Meeting called to order: The meeting was called to order at 3 :41 pm.
II. Quorum: A quorum was established.
III. Approval of Agenda: The agenda was approved unanimously with changes.
Approval of Minutes: The minutes of August 26,2010 were unanimously
approved.
IV. Public Comment: None at this time.
V. Action/Discussion: Discussions centered around our draft so far for our
report to BOS due on September 15th.
3~59 Mary Wawro called on phone. 4:01 Ann Medina came to the meeting.
4:04 Whitey Willauer came to the meeting.
Wording was changed to better clarify what we wanted to say, in the Council's
recommendations of comparative evaluation criteria, methods of determining
levels of funding and the process for monitoring contracts. Whitey took pm1 in
the discussions and asked questions. 4:23pm Augie Ramos left the meeting.
4:44pm Sue Marques left the meeting.
New Business discussion: Rachel Rosen's resignation was accepted by the BOS
on September 1 st. The food pantry has had a 40% increase for July 2010 over
July 2009. The Council has gathered costs from daycare for children and the
elderly, school lunch programs, other food services, Food Stamps, children's
services, Cape Cod Needy fund plus many others.
The BOS is scheduled to make new appointments to CHS on September 22nd
to fill the vacancies.
Adjourned: The meeting adjourned at 5:15pm.
Next meetings will probably be next Wednesday and Thursday. times to be
determined.
