Mr. Carlson will draw up proposals for these issues by the turn of the year and enter those approved by the Town in the Beach Management Plan. He reported that Sesachacha Pond is being opened today and Hummock Pond next week. Possible testing for septic leakage into the ponds will be carried out in the future. There may be changes to the beach driving brochure only at Smith's Point for the 2010 map. Mr. Quigley asked about putting the brochure and its map on the boats and at the airport. Mr. Carlson replied that the boats were reluctant to post it. Mrs. Beck announced that the members would approve any changes in the brochure at the November meeting. The members voted to hold one meeting in November on the lih and one in December on the 10th. Mr. Dickson proposed that BMAC ask the I&M to consider running short items on beach information regularly in the summer issues of the paper. Mrs. Beck will ask Josh Balling, the Assistant Manager, if these items could appear in order to publicize the management of the beaches for the public. The members finished their discussion of the goals for the 2009-2010 year and approved four as follows: 1. To review continuously the Beach Management Plan 2. To continue to promote BMAC as a resource for informing and educating the public about the beaches 3. To continue to use and develop public media for the education of beachgoers in conjunction with the Beach Management Plan 4. To make recommendations to the Town as BMAC perceives changes, needs, and improvements in beach operations. Mrs. Beck also circulated three forms from the Town Manager asking for brief replies as to attendance, regularity of Minutes, and membership. These and the goals will be reviewed on November 12 before submission to the Town Manager on November 13. Mr. Dickson moved to adjourn the meeting at 5:00 PM, with Mr. Magee seconding, and all in favor. Respectfully submitted, with notes from Tom Quigley, Maureen Beck, Chair
