HomeMy WebLinkAbout2009-05-14 Town of Nantucket County Finance Review Committee Minutes - County Finance Review Committee Meeting, held May 14th, 2009 !Approved June 18th, 20091 A duly noticed meeting of the County Finance Review Committee was held in the conference room at #2 Fairgrounds Road on Thursday, May 14th, 2009, commencing at 5:49 PM. Present: Chairman Jim Kelly, Christy Kickham, Charity Benz, Steve McCluskey, Peter Morrison, Matthew Mulcahy, Tim Soverino, Michael Rosen, and John Tiffany Absent: None Also present: C. Elizabeth Gibson, Michael Kopko, Irene Larivee, Malachy Rice and Constance Voges, and Craig Abernathy Call to Order: Chairman Kelly called the meeting to order at 5:49 PM. An nou ncements/U pdates: None Approval of Minutes 3 February and 26 March 2009: Mr. Rosen moved to approve the minutes of February 3rd and March 26th, 2009; seconded by Mr. Morrison. So voted unanimously. Request to Amend FY 2009 Nantucket County Budget: Ms. Gibson explained that the requested amendment to the FY 2009 County Budget is a reduction from what was previously approved, due to the fact that Deeds Excise revenue is Minutes - County Finance Review Committee May 14th, 2009 Page 2 of2 down and the Sheriff may need additional money from the account to fund operations within the Sheriff's office. She added that after reviewing projections and the audited FY 08 balance in the account $700,000 should be available for the Police Station. Mr. Mulcahy moved to approve the request to amend the FY 2009 Nantucket County Budget with an increase of $700,000 from Deeds Excise fund balance for the Police Station project approved at the 2009 Annual Town Meeting; seconded by Mr. Morrison. So voted unanimously. New Business: None. Old Business: None. Date of Next Meeting: The date of the next meeting is to be determined.
