At her request to approve the Minutes of the February 5th meeting, Mr. Leddy stated that a reference in the Minutes to a sign on the Apthorpe Land Bank property was still incorrect. After some discussion Mr. Quigley moved to table the approval until Mr. Leddy can learn from the Land Bank the reason for the placement and wording of the sign. The Beach Manager reported on proposals he had presented at a March 12 meeting of the Assistant Town Manager with agencies involved in beach operations. He has added new sections on protocols for beach availability and closings, a beach inspection worksheet, timelines for opening and closing of beaches, contact lists for agencies involved in beach operations, and a policy for response to and disposal of stranded marine mammals. Mr. Carlson announced that the BOS would hold a Public Hearing at their meeting on April15 to approve these documents and enter them in the Beach Management Plan. The members discussed the problems associated with the hazardous trash buried on and off shore at Madaket Beach, which is now growing back. They wondered if signage could be posted permanently at the site to alert beachgoers. Mr. Carlson reported that the Coastal Management Plan was progressing, that the Sconset Beach Nourishment Project was back in a planning stage, hoping to expand the area it could repair, that he would be in contact with Plum TV after Town Meeting to produce summer shorts and an interview about the beaches. He passed out some copies of the 2009 Beach Driving Maps and mentioned that he and the designer were looking for new pictures for the next version in 2010. The members decided on April 16 for their next meeting and on April 30 as a possible future date. Mr. Leddy reported that an individual had offered to provide bags for beach trash if BMAC was interested. Mr. Carlson assured Mr. Quigley that the plans for coverage of trash and patrols on the Fourth of July at Nobadeer, labeled "The Event," were on track. Mr. Quigley then moved to adjourn, Mrs. Van Lieu, seconding, at 5:06 pm. d \.0 Respectfully submitted, with notes by Mr. Quigley, --:-::::> : -::J ~_ -:J N --" Maureen V.
