'fhe regular meeting of the Rights of Way Committee was held in the Town and , ounty Building on July 30, 1980 at 8:00 PM with Mr. Waine being absent. I , I l~r. Visco made a motion to approve the minutes of July 9 and 16 and waive the ,reading thereof, seconded by Mr. Eldridge, so voted. Il ,The Committee discussed the matter of Mr. Robert Blair. The committee will ifheck his deed to see if the Town has any rights in the way in question. ,Mr. Yacus made a motion to table the matter until we have checked the deed, Iseconded by Mr. Visco so voted. II iThe committee discussed the Sconset Path. After having viewed the path with !Mr. Barrett, Mrs. Howard made a motion to recommend to the County Commissioners lthat the DPW relocate the path in front of the Matteson property to the west i~f the present one and close off the existing path for public safety as soon as jpossib1e. Seconded by Mr. Yacus, so voted. Path should not exceed 3 to 4 feet lpn width and a buffer area maintained. The County Commissioners should consider i~ome form of erosion control. I " !the Committee discussed the Shore Reservation land owned by the Town located on l,!sthers Island. The committee voted to send a 1t.ter to the Board of Selectmen tating that it is the belief of Mr. Barrett (who is the member most familiar 10 ith the area) that most of the land is overboard. . ,; I, irhe Committee received a letter from Mr. Ho1dgate, Chairman of the Board of .Se1ectmenjCounty Commissioners regarding the petition of the West Surfside iresidents to close off a way (School St.) from 9 to 5 to vehicular traffic. Iruestion is whether this is an abutters way or a public way. ltommittee will resear~h the matter. H l~r. Yacus made a motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Mr. Eldridge, so yo ted .
