The regular meeting of the Rights of Way Committee was held in the Town and
County Building On October 22, 1980 at 8:00 PM with Mr. Visco and Mr. Waine
being absent.
Mr. Yacus made a motion to waive the reading of the minutes and to approve
the minutes of October 1, 1~80, seconded by Mr. Eldridye, so voted.
The committee received a copy of Wes Tiffany's report on the Sconset Path
erosion. Letter will be filed with recommendation previously given to
County Commissioners. Committee also received letter from Conservation
Commission regarding the work proposed on the path.
The committee received a copy of a letter from the County Commissioners to
Bernard L. Grossman regarding a strip of land that the County Commissioners
are requesting Mr. Gross~an to gi~e to the Town for Polpis H3rbor acc~ss.
It was brought to the a~tention of the Committee by Mr. Thurber that a chain
has been placed across a way in Shirnmo by Mr. Crosby to close off acces; to
the water for family scallopers. From the information available, the
committee feels that the way is not public, however they will look into it further.
Will check on deeds of Mr. Keenan and Mr. Crosby. Mr. Eldridge made a motion to
table the matter until the committee has viewed the site and obtained the
copies of the deeds.Seconded by Mr. Yacus, so voted.
The committee discussed the way at the end of West Chester St. Extension which
haS been closed off.
Regarding the matter of Lily Pond, the committee feels that they do not
have enough information to make a judgement. Suggest Mr, Blair seek
counsel.
Mr. Eldridge madE a motior. to adjourn at 9:15 PM seccnded by ~rs. Marble,
so voted.
