HomeMy WebLinkAbout1980-01-09 The Right of t~ays Committee Illet at 8:00 p~~ in the Town and County Building on January 9th, 1980 with all members being present. 'Mr. Yacus ~lade a motion to approve the minutes seconded by Mr. Eldridge, voted unanimously. ~Ilr. Ri cha\~d Gl i dden, Atty. attended the meeting and showed the committee a plot plan of Mr. Egan~ property on Cato Lane. He stated that he wants to leave the way off the Land Court Plan. He also wants to relocate the existing way to straighten out his lot lines and that he will give the Town an easement across his property as well. Mr. Egan will turn over to the Town if the Town wishes in the future that strip of land being \^elocated for $1.00 and pay for the survey. (to be recorded on the deed) Mr. Eldridge indicated his objection to the idea. This is the way we loose Town roads. The committee will consider the matter. Regarding Chapter 693, the committee voted to change from $1500 per road repair costs to 5~ per foot on 6N-a. t1r. Yacus made a motion to submit the proposals of 6N-a through !Lto the Selectmen/County Commissioners for their consideration, seconded by ~1r. Eldridge voted unanimously. If the Selectmen approve the proposal, request them to submit an article in the Town Warrant. The Committee received a letter from t~rs. ~1illy Taylor regarding the sand across Massachusetts Ave. in Madaket. The committee also received a letter from the County Commissioners regarding t,1ass. Ave. and the Sand problem. The Committee recommends removal of the sand to keep the road accessible for emergency vehicles and general public safety~ with Conservation Commission approval as to what should be done with the sand upon the removal. The committee discussed the budget for 1980-81 and voted to request $1,000. Mr. Barrett said that Mr. Thurber will take care of it. Mr. Eldridge asked if anyone of the members heard from the Boat Meadow Creek Corp. regarding the other access to Polpis Harbor. Mr. Barrett reported to the committee that Mr. Buckingham called him and invited him to attend a meeting with himself, Mr. Young and Mr. Lentowski at the office of the Conservation Foundation. This meeting will not be open to the public or the other members of this committee. Mrs. Marble said she would like to make a motion to investigate the opening of the Polpis Harbor Access Road to its full width before the Town Warrant closed and perhaps submit an Article in the Warrant for just that. After much discussion and the present situation regarding the possible other access and the lack of success in doing anything with the present access, there was no second.
