The Right of Way Committee met at 8:15 PM on November 7, 1979 in the Town
and CouDty Building with Messngrs: Marble, Yacus, Waine and Barrett being
present. Mr. Eldridge was absent.
Mrs. Marble made a motion to approve the minutes, seconded by Mr. Yacus,
voted unanimously.
The Committee again discussed Chapter 693 (An Act Relative to making repairs
on Private Ways.) and propose the following:
A.) Temporary Repairs (type and extent of repairs) Roads shall be kept
safely passable by grading and temporary repairs be limited to $1500 per
road per year.
B.) Drainage Purposes (manholes, culverts, etc.) $1500.
C.) Maintenance for public necessity, Health and Safety.
D.) 51% of abutters.
E.) Betterment charge may be assessed for improvements.
F.) Town liability limited to amount of repair per year.
G.) 20 yea rs .
H.) Descretion of County Commissioners.
The committee was informed that Mr. Ryckman does work on Zoning matters only
therefore the committee will have to write to Mr. Goglia for this proposal
as far as the legallity of wording the proposal.
Mr. Marble who was present at the meeting requested a copy of Chapter 40
and asked what the status of Article 17 was. The committee discussed the
matter for some time.
Upon motion made by Mrs. Marble and seconded by Mr. Yacus, the meeting
adjourned at 9:50 PM.
