MINUTES OF THE NANTUCKET SCHOLARSHIP
COMMITTEE

pRESENT: Carol Crowell, Carol Barrett, Dorothy Williams, Richard Pardi,
Sharon MacInnis, Dennis Caron.
Not Present: Tim Howard.
The meeting was called Lo order by Carol Crowell at 4:00pm. The minutes from the meeting of Jan.
27th,1999 seem to have been lost or forgotten. The secn'.tary, Sharon MacInnis was sick, and not in
attendance at thatnweting.
The treasurer's report from Dorothy Bartlett states that we have $6,667.50 in the fund.
Bernard Bartldt, husband of SUZiume Bartlett to whom W('. awarded money in the Fall of 1998, was
asked to the meeting to explain that the college - N.Y.U. -lost the funds issued by us at that lime. It was
dl~reed that the funds should be re-issued to Mr. Bartlett.
It was agreed to issue $5,500.00 in scholarships for the fall of "99.
The awards were as follows:
Elizabeth Dunton, Smith College, $500.00
Kelly Hull, CCCC, $500.00
Erin Lemht,-rg, Conneclicute College, $1000.00
Richard Lindley, UNCW, $1,000.00
Maureen Malavase, Mount Ida College, $1000.00
Maybeth Soveriuo, tv1t. Holyoke College, $500.00
Perry Stover, UMass. Amherst, $500.00
Brillany Strojny, Westfield State College, $500.00
Dorothy Williams will take care of the appeal letter . She has it on the Salt Marsh competer and will
have the Salt Marsh visitors stuff the envelopes in early September.
The next meeting will be held Nov. 3,1999 @ 4:00pm.
