MINUTES OF NANTUCKET SCHOLARSHIP
COMMITTEE- JanuaQ' 26, 2000
Members Present: Carol Crowell, Dorothy Williams, Dennis Caron, and
Sharon Macinnis.
Members Absent: Carol Barrett (resigned), Tim Howard (resigned) Richard
Pardi, and Linda Williams (new appointment).
Carol Crowell will ask the selectmen if the next two al)pointments
can expire in 2001, and to appoint them now so that they may have a
working knowledge of the committee before the old members terminate.
The meeting for the disbursement of the January scholarship awards
was brought to order at 4:00PM by Carol Crowell. After having reviewed
the applications. ( all of which were complete) the members heard the Treasurer's
Report by Dorothy Williams, and proceeded to disperse the funds as follows:
Bardsley. Catherine CCCC soph $1000.00
Bardsley. William WPI sel110r 1000.00
Beamish. Susan CCCC certificate 500.00
Gardner. Charles Elon junior 1000.00
Gardner. Christopher Wesleyan freshman 500.00

The committee was happy to be able to disperse this much money. for the first time since it's inception
With that. the fund still has $5.750.48 for future awards.
It was decided that Sharon MacInnis would place an add in the I&M
thanking the community for it's generous response to both the appeal letter
and the enclosures in the tax bill.
Carol Crowell will take the list to Dorothy Williams. who in tum \vill take
it to the Town Building for checks to be cut.
It was decided to take another look at the financial aid form in the next
meeting which \vill be held on April 14.00, at 4:00PM at NHS.
