The members agreed to approve the Minutes of April 3 and 17 after discussion and corrections by Mr. Leddy. The members approved a final draft of the report to the Town Manager regarding discussions with agencies involved in beach operations. Mrs. Beck will deliver it to her on Monday, April 28. The members agreed to set the following meetings for May at the Land Bank at the new time, 4:15 pm: May 1, 15, 22, and 29. The members reported progress on the television project for BMAC. Gino Geng offered Mrs. Beck some BMAC lV coverage on Channel 17. She asked the members if that coverage would conflict with the Plum coverage already proposed. Mr. Dickson offered to call Jenelle at Plum to explore that question as well as their next plans for filming BMAC material. The members also referred to the gigantic wave the Children's Library at the Atheneum had constructed in the garden of the Atheneum. Mr. Leddy reported that he had just come from a filming at Surfside where he was interviewed by Plum. He also reported that he found large bags of trash and bulky materials like an eight gallon marine gas tank, an industrial fishing net, and other large broken debris carefully assembled and waiting at Nobadeer Beach for pick-up. Plum filmed the pile. BMAC speculated whether they were the result of a concerted Earth Day clean-up of the area, even into the dunes, or a private endeavor. Mrs. Beck suggested BMAC write a letter to the papers praising this effort. She also asked Mr. Leddy if he would consider writing an Op-Ed letter to the newspapers regarding clean-up on the beaches. Mr. Leddy stated that he had spoken to the new middle school principal, who was enthusiastic about organizing projects for protecting the beaches with her students. The meeting was adjourned at 5:10 pm. The next meeting will be at the Land Bank on May 1. Respectfully submitted, with notes from Tom Dickson, Maureen Beck, Chair
