ROADS AND RIGHT OF WAY COMMITTEE
Meeting of:
MINUTES
November 9, 2005
Present: Andrew Vorce, Sylvie O'Donnell, Nat Lowell, Charles Sayle III, Allen
Reinhard
Guest, Christine Silverstein
Meeting of November 9,2006 was called to order at 4:03 p.m. in the Selectmen's
Conference room in the Town Building with a quorum present.
Discussion followed regarding a need for a chairman and vice-chairman so the
committee could conduct official business.
The following candidates were nominated and voted for the following positions:
Allen Reinhard, Chairman
Charles Sayle III, Vice-Chairman
John Stackpole, Secretary

The committee discussed and voted to ask the County Commissioners to ;:.
proceed with the taking of certain roads in Madaket, survey work arranged and
paid for by the Land Bank Commission.
The committee discussed and voted to ask the County Commissioners to
proceed with the taking on Washing Pond Road.
The committee discussed, and voted to ask the County Commissioners to
proceed with negotiations to take Indian Avenue (Steps Beach) to the harbor.
The committee then discussed the existing priority list of road takings and will
consider additions and priorities at our next meeting in December.
Then followed a discussion of existing obstructions in known right-of ways,
specifically at: Crooked Lane, and at Sheep Commons Lane off Milestone Road.
The committee will discuss procedures for dealing with right-of-way obstructions
at our next meeting.
Alvin Topham has submitted his resignation from the committee, and the
Selectmen have posted the position with interested applicants to apply by
December 6, with a public hearing scheduled for Thursday, December 15, at 4:00
p.m.
Our next meeting will be Wednesday, December 14, 2005, at 4:00 p.m. in the
Selectmen's Conference Room at 16 Broad Street. The Chair will post the
meeting and remind committee members prior to the meeting.
At our next meeting, we will review the takings priority list, review the procedures
and policy regarding obstructions in public right-of ways, and take any other
actions necessary.
