DISCUSSION ON PETITIONS FOR INDIAN AVE, MADAKET TAKINGS,
WARRENS LANDING AND EEL PONT RD.
VOTED: TO RECCOMMEND TAKING ALL OF EEL POINT RD AND WARRENS
LANDING RD. 4 & 9 ON PRIORITY LIST.
DISCUSSION ON BOULEVARD AND SURROUNDING ROADS. TOWN
APPROPRIATED 850,000 FOR WORK AND REQUESTED EASMENTS FOR
TAKING. LESS THAN 50% OF LANDOWNERS REPL YED. TOWN COUNSEL
NOW RECCOMMENDS TAKING EASMENTS VS FEE INTERESTS BECAUSE OF
COSTS INVOLVED.
VOTED: TO SUPPORT TAKING EASEMENTS TO CONNECT BOULEVARD TO
AIRPORT ROAD ( FORMERLY MACY LANE), TO MAKE PUBLIC WAYS.
DISCUSSION ON NEW MAPS TO SHOW RIGHTS OF WAYS. CHAIRMAN WILL
ASK THE LAND BANK TO WORK WITH US ON THE NEW MAPS THEY ARE
DEVELOPING.
DISCUSSION OF CHAPTER 91 WATERWAYS LICENSES.
VOTED TO SEND LETTER TO PLANNING BOARD AND ASK TO HAVE ANY
CHAPTER 91 REQUESTS COPIED TO OUR COMMITTEE.

Lane)

5. Discussion: procedure for dealing with right-of-way obstructions
6. Proposal for Roads and Right-of-Way Committee to prepare a "Rights of
Way Improvement Plan" to the County Commissioners including a map of
all known legal rights-of-way on Nantucket, public access points, and
public roads and existing footpaths and trails. What is the state of public
access, especially pedestrian access to public lands, moorlands, plains,
ponds and beaches? Plan would show state of public access today and
offer suggestions as to how to guarantee responsible public access to our
land and landscape for the community to enjoy.
