The meeting opened with the members reviewing March's minutes, which were
unanimously approved.
Topics:
. Parking Permit Approvals
The meeting began with the members discussing the procedure for approving
a parking permit application. The Commission collectively agreed a majority
of members must approve a permit application before a permit is issued. Dick
motioned for majority approval, which Phil seconded and so it was voted.
. Ground Transportation at the Airport
Liz will speak with Foley Vaughn concerning ground transportation at the
airport for disabled passengers.
. Disabled Parking at the Town Pharmacies
Presently there are two "15 Minute" parking spaces: one on each side of the
crosswalk at the town pharmacies. Liz suggested changing the space on the
east side of the crosswalk to a "30 Minute" disabled parking space so disabled
shoppers could have easy access to the pharmacies. Mickey said he would
meet with Mohamed and discuss the parking space, leveling of Main Street
sidewalk, and curb cuts.
. Companion Animals
Dick wants to know what kinds of animals are considered companion animals.
. Steamship Authority
Phil mentioned that the Steamship Authority should designate the front row of
the fast ferry, Iyanough, to elderly passengers. The other rows are spaced so
closely together that it is difficult for an elderly or disabled passenger to
access the seats.
Parking Permit
The Commission members reviewed a parking permit that they felt was
incomplete. Phil motioned to send the application back to the Doctor for more
information, which Dick seconded and all but Phil agreed to send it back.
