Other Business Town of Nantucket Conservation Commission Town and County Building Nantucket, Massachusetts 02554 December 15, 1983 The regular meeting of the Nantucket Conservation Commission was called to order: at 7:30 PM by Chairman C. Borchert. Members present: M. Arnold, P. Bennett, C. Borchert, G. Burchell, C. Pearl, A. Silva and P. Waine. Members absent: None. 1. Minutes of the meeting of November 17 and December 1. A motion was made and seconded to accept the minutes as typed. The vote was 5 in favor. P. Waine abstai ned. 2. ,Mr. L. Dennis Shapiro - Notice of Intent SE48-239. A. Silva moved to issue an Urder for the proposed construction of two dwellings to be located on Tristram Avenue. C. Pearl seconded the motion. So voted. 3. ( Dixon R. Rrnwn - Notir.p of Intent SE48-241. The Chairman read a letter from DEQE concerning the type of timber groins to be used. C. Pearl moved to issue an Order with the additional conditions that the groins be no longer or higher than the existing ones on the area and with conditions similar to the ones on Alexander Craigs' Order. P. Bennett seconded. So voted. 4,_ Mr. William Comer - Request for Extension Permit,. The Commissioy,discussed the proposed project. It was moved by P. Waine to issue an Extension Permit. So seconded by C. Pearl. All in favor. 5. ~Cooperative Agreement with Conservation Services - Wood property. P. Waine moved to sign the agreement which stated the Commission would cooperate with the District in establishing conservation measures for the Wood property and the Consue Springs property. Seconded by C. Pearl. So voted. There followed discussion on the problem with the dead wood on the Wood property. The Commission decided to discuss the matter with Mr. David Champous in order to ascertain there would be no problem with beetles in the wood and if there was no problem, to refer the matter to Town Counsel for his advice on the feasibility of letting the public remove the wood for their own use. So voted. 6. Bi11s. A motion was made and seconded to pay the following bills: The Silver Quill New England Telephone Deidre Gale $5.40 $25.99 $98.00 Office supplies Professional services So voted. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:13 PM.
