Public Hearing for Randolph Sharp
Notice of Intent

Members present: J.1. Arnold, P. Bennett, C. Borchert, G. Burchell, C. Pearl, P. Waine

Present for the owner: Randolph Sharp, Robert Leichter P.E., Michael Bachman P.L.S.
Project type: Dwelling and septic system to be constructed on Pol~is and old Polpis
Roads
Called to order: 7:30 P}1
The Chairman called the hearing to order. Mr. Leichter addressed the
Commission concerning a change in the septic system design. The Commission
stated that breakout calculations for the system still constituted a problem ·
Members also expressed concern over the proximity of the pipe to the freshwater
\'letl2.11QS.
There b~ng no further discussion, the hearing was closed at 7:45 PM.

Public Hearing for Wayne Mosher
Notice of Intent
Date: October 20, 1983
Members present: M. Arnold, P. Bennett, C. Borchert, G. Burchell, C. Pearl, P. Waine
Members absent: A. Silva
Called to order: 7:46 PM
Present: Wayne Mosher, owner
Project type: Dredging of pond on Cliff Road
The Chairman called the hearing to order. The Commission read a letter from
DEQE requesting more information to be submitted with the Notice. P. Waine questioned
as to how much material would be dredged. Mr. Mohher stated he was not sure of the
amount. There followed discussion between Mr. Mosher and the Commission on the
size of the pond and the amount of dredging. G. Burchell moved to close the
hearing. So seconded and voted.
The public hearing was adjourned at 7:57 PM.

The regular meeting of the Nantucket Conservation Commission was called to order
at 8:02 PM By Chairman Borchert. Members present were: M. Arnold, P. Bennett,
C. Borchert, G. Burchell, C. Pearl, and P. Waine. Members absent: A. Silva.

Minutes of the meeting of October 6, 1983. Motion was made and seconded to
accept the minutes as typed with the following amendment: that item 2,
the first line be changed to read Bob Ruley instated of Ed Ruley. So voted.
Determinations. The Chairman read a letter forwarded by the Commission to
the Building Inspector regarding the ~uildifi~ Permft issued to Mrs.'Be~erly
Hall and-,the possibility"that' the proposed construction might be within
100 feet of a wetlands. G. Burchell moved to schedule a field inspection.
So seconded by M. Arnold. P. Waine moved to issue an Enforcement Order
stating no construction should be undertaken at the site until the Commission
ossued a Determination. There foloowed discussion on the limits of the
Building inspector's authority and the Commission's authority. C. Pearl
seconded P. Waine's motion. There followed discussion among the Commissioners
and Mrs. Cheryl Emery on the condition of the site and the effect of the proposed
construction. P. Waine moved again to issue an Enforcement Order. So seconded
and voted.

Planning Board Referral Form. C. Pearl moved that a subdivision located on
Somerset and Bartlett Roads, owned by Pine Knoll, Realty Trust was not subject
to the Wetlands Act. Seconded by G. Burchell. So vot~d.
DPW - Sconset Foot Path. The Chairman read a letter from DPW Superintendent Donald
Oliver.concerning the availablity of funds for erosion ~ontrQl for the Sconset
foot path. A motion was made and scheduled to have a fleld lnspectlon of
the site. So voted.
Robert Mooney Esquire - Consue S rin s ro ert. The Chairman read a lette~
rom ttorney ooney lnqulrlng whether the Commission ~ould be.in~erested ln
purchasing property located near the present Conservatlon CommlSSlon owned
property located at Cosnue Springs. The Commission voted to refer the matter
to Town Counsel for his advice.
Julie Young - Request for Extension Permit. A motion was made and seconded to
issue an Extension Permit for Notice of Intent SE48~38. So voted.
Ed Strojny - Abbreviated Notice of Intent. The Commission reviewed the Notice
for a driveway to be constructed on property owned by Ann Strong Garrett,
located at Monomoy.

The Commission reviewed a plot plan of property in

9. Bills. A motion was made and seconded to pay the following bills:

The Silver Quill $17.44
It was so voted.
