Other business Town of Nantucket Conservation Commission Town and County Building Nantucket, Massachusetts 02554 June 16, 1983 The regular meeting of the Nantucket Conservation Commission was called to order at 7:35 PM by Chairman C. Borchert. Members present were: P. Bennett, C. Borchert, G. Burchell, C. Pearl, B. Richmond, A. Silva and P. Waine. Members absent: none. 1. Minutes of the meeting of June 2. 1983. A motion was made and seconded to accept the minutes as typed. There was no opposition. 2. Mr. Noel Thompson - Certificate of Compliance. This item was moved forward on the agenda as the agent for the owner was present. G. Burchell moved to issue the Certificate for the dwelling and septic system located on Low Beach Road. 3. Town of Nantucket - Order of Conditions SE48-234. B. Richmond moved to issue a standard Order for the proposed sewer bed project at Surfside with the additional conditions that revegetation of the area should be carried out at the earliest possible date and in accordance with the plans submitted with the Notice of Intent. G. Burchell seconded. There was no opposition. 4. Mr. James Dalzell - Extension Permit. B. Richmond moved to issue an Extension Permit for the dwelling and septic system located on "B Street", off Polpis Road. A. Silva seconded the motion. There was no opposition. 5. Requests for Determination. Mr. Richard Ryder. A. Silva moved to issue a negative Determination for the property located on Bear and Pleasant Street. C. Pearl seconded the motion. There was no opposition. Mr. McCalley - Galen Avenue. The Commission voted to schedule a field inspection of the property. 6. Board of Selectmen - Nesting Terns. A letter from the Board concerning the closing of the beach in order to protect nesting terns was read by the Chairman. P. Waine moved to write a letter to the Board supporting the closing of the beach COntingent 'on allowing vehicular access. G. Burchell seconded the motion. There was no opposition. 7. Planning Board Referral Form - Dasco Nominee T~ust: The Commission voted to forward a letter stating the proposed subdivision located on off Bartlett Road was not subject to the Wetlands Protection Act. There was no opposition. page 2 8. DEQE - Notice of Intent SE48-222~ The Commission voted to place the letter on file. 9. Mr. Tom David - Order of Conditions SE48-207. The Chairman read a letter from Mr. David regarding the possibility of substituting concrete pilings for wooden pilings for a proposed dwelling to be located at Madaket. B. Richmond moved to wtite a letter to Mr. David that the Commission preferred wood pilings but it would consider concrete if an engineer submitted a plan for its consideration. There was no opposition. 10. Mr. Robert Palmer - North Beach Street houses. The Chairman read the letter expressing concern over the construction of three houses on North Beach Street. The matter was taken under advisement. 11. Donation. The Chairman read a letter from a donor who wished to remain anonymous concerning the possible donation of stocks to the Commission. B. Richmond moved to write a letter to Town Counsel seeking his advice and then write a letter based on this. P. Bennett seconded the motion. There was no opposition. 12. Bills.
