Members absent: G. Burchell
Called to order: 7:51 PM
The hearing was called to order at 7:51 PM by Chairman C. Borchert.
The Commission discussed the proposed project to construct a float at
property located near Hither Creek in Madaket.
There being no further discussion, the hearing was closed at 7:59 PM.

Notice of Intent SE48-222
Date: March 10, 1983
Members present: P. Bennett, C. Borchert, C. .Pearl, B. Richmond, A. Silva,
P. Waine
Members absent: G. Burchell
Called to order: 7:32 PM
The public hearing was called to order by Chairman C. Borchert.
Mr. Charl~ Gieg was present as agent for the owner.
The Commission discussed the proposed project to construct a
two bedroom dwelling and septic system on property located near
Hither Creek in Madaket.
P. Waine moved to table the matter. He rescinded the motion.
A. Silva moved to accept the plan as designed. He rescinded hi smotion.
The Commission voted to discUss the matter further at its regular meeting.
The hearing was closed at 7:50 PM.

Local Non-Zoning Wetlands ByLaw
Public Hearing
Date.: March 10, 1983
Members present: P. Bennett, C. Borchert, C. Pearl, B. Richmond, A. Silva, P.Waine
Members absent: A. Silva
The public hearing was called to order by Chairman C. Borchert. Chairman
C. Borchert spoke on the reasons for the adoption of the proposed bylaw.
There followed discussion among Commission members on the bylaw.
P. Bennttt moved to close the hearing. There was no second to the motion.
A ten minute recess was called by the Chairman. Further discussion ensued
following the recess. P. Waine moved for a vote as to the Commission recommending
the bylaw at Town Meeting. C. Pearl seconded the motion. The Commission discussed
the matter further. P. Bennett moved to close the hearing. B. Rich .ond seconded
the motion. P. Waine, A. Silva P. Bennett and B. Richmond voted to close the
hearing. C. Pearl was opposed. The motion passed, 4-1.
The hearing was closed at 9:15 Pm.

The regular meeting of the Nantucket Conservation Commission was
called to order at 9:15 PM. Members present were: P. Bennett, C. Borchert,
C. -Pearl, B. Richmond, A. Silva and P. Waine. Members absent: G. Burchell.

2. Audience to press and public. The Commission reviewed an amended set of
plans for Notice of Intent SE48-l50. P. Waine moved to accept the amended
set of plans for the Notice. The motion was seconded. There was no
opposition.
3. Emery and Rosenfeld - Notice of Intent SE48-222. A motion was made and
seconded to accept the report of the field inspection team after the
owners agreed to relocate the septic system and well on the lot. There
was no opposition.
4. Town of Nantucket - Notice of IntentSE48-220 and Notice of Intent for a
bulkhead on Easy Street. A motion was made and seconded to table both
Notices until the next regular meeting due to a lack of information.
There was no opposition.
5. Peter Nash - Request to Determine Applicability-. A motion was made and
seconded to check Item 4 on the Determination (that the work would
not involve dredging, filling, removing or altering the wetland). There
was no opposition.
6. Christopher Lang - Notice of Intent SE48-l74. The Commission reviewed the
amended set of plans for the proposed dwelling to be located on Washington
Street. A motion was made and seconded to have the applicant refile a
new Notice as the plans differed substantially from the original plans
submitted. There was no opposition.
7. Bills, A motion was made and seconded to pay the following bills;
a bill of $18.00 from the Inquirer and Mirror for advertising, a bill
of $37.25 from Poets Corner for printing and a bill of $18.09 from Cape
Office Products for office supplies. There was no opposition.
8. Local Non-Zoning Bylaw. P. Waine moved that the Commission vote not to
present the proposed local non-zoning wetlands bylaw at Town Meeting.
C. Pearl seconded the motion. There followed much discussion on whether
the Commission should present the proposed bylaw at Town Meeting. P.
Waine, C. Pearl and A. Silva voted in favor of the motion. P. Bennett
and B. Richmond were opposed. The motion was carried by a vote of 3-2.
There being no further discussion, the meeting was adjourned at 10:44 PM.
