The regular meeting of the Nantucket Conservation Commission was called
to order at 8:05 PM by Chairman C. Borchert. Members present were:
P. Bennett, C. Borchert, G. Burchell and B. Richmond. Members absent were:
C. Pearl, A. Silva and P. Wainer
1. Minutes of the meeting of February 10, 1983. P. Bennett moved to accept the
minutes as typed with the following amp~dment: that on Item 2, lines 11-12
"from Jeremv' s Pond on Long Pond Road" be changed to read" on Madaket Road
. .i. B. Richmond seconded the motion. There was no opposition.
2, Audience to press and public, Mr. Chuck Gieg addressed the Commission concerning
a Notice of Intent filed By Chris Emery and Cheryl Rosenfeld. Mr. Gieg requested
tne Commission hold a field inspection of the site before the public hearing was
held. The Commission voted to schedule a field inspection before the public
hearing. There was no opposition.
3. Town of Nantucket - Notice of Intent SE48-22l. A motion was made and seconded to
issue a standard Order of Conditions for the proposed project at North Beach
Street. There was no opposition.
4. Lee Dunn - Notice of Intent SE48-2l9, A letter from Mr. Shugrue stating the
Notice included both Lots 908 and Lots 909 was read by Chairman Borchert.
B. Richmond moved to issue a standard Order with three additional conditions.
P. Bennett seconded the motion. There was no opposition.
5. 'Planning Board Referral Form - Mr. Jelleme and Mr. Garneau - West York Lane.
The Commission voted to forward a letter to the Planning Board stating the
proposed subdivision was not subject to the Wetlands Act. There was no opposition.
6. Stephen Seelig Esquire - Fulling Mill Conservation Area. A letter from Attorney
Seelig expressing his congratulations to the Commission on the recent purchase
of the Polpis Road property was read by Chairman Borchert. The Commission voted
to place the letter on file. There was no opposition.

John J. Shugrue - Request for Extension Permits for Notices
SE48-l86. G. Burchell moved to issue the Extension Permits.

9. Bills. A motion was made and seconded to pay the following bills:
a bill of $20.00 to the Postmaster for stamp? and a bill of $25.69
to New England Telephone, There was no opposition.
10. Bill Klein - Land Bank Management Program. Mr. Klein addressed the
Commission concerning the objectives of the Land Bank program. Mr.
Klein gave a slide presentation of the island and pointed out various
properties owned by the Town or by the Conservation Foundation. Mr.
Klein and the Commission discussed the goals of the Land Bank program
at length. The members of tne Commission expressed their support of the program.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 9:08 PM.
