b. Carl and Nancy Gewirz - Chicago Street, Madaket. Glenn Wills was
present as the agent. Applicant wants to move the house towards
the dunes and ocean. The erosion rate has been very low for the last
four years. P. Dunwiddie feels that the erosion rate for the next
25 years minimum should be considered. P. Waine suggested drawing a
line 100' from wetlands vegetation and the dunes. P. Dunwiddie feels
that line is problematic with lawn, blowing sand, etc. The commission
scheduled another field inspection to view the site again.
c. John Shugrue - North Beach Street - P. Dunwiddie moved to issue a

negative determination stating that the work is within an area subject
to protection under the act but will not alter the area.

Wetlands are above the house site which is not wetlands. P. Dunwiddie
concearned about the potential draining of the higher wetland with
house foundation. P. Waine moved to issue a negative determination
stating the work is within a Buffer Zone but will not alter an area
subject to protection. So voted.
