Warrens Landing \ \ \ Town of Nantucket Conservation Commission Town and County Building Nantucket, Massachusetts 02554 Minutes of January 2t 1986 The public hearings of January 2t 1986 were called to order at 7:30 p.m. Members present were: M. Arnoldt M.J. Williamst D. Viscot L. Lesket P. Wainet L. Dunn and P. Dunwiddie. A. Public Hearings: 1. Leonard Sherman - SE48-335 - Squam Rd. The hearing was continued for a field inspection scheduled for January 13t 1986. 2. Harborside Realty Trust - The hearing was continued as no file number has been issued by DEQE. 3. Robert McGrath - Miacomet Pond. L. Leske and P. Dunwiddie along with John Shugrue went on a field inspection to check the delin- eation. There are three areas of concearn and three possible solutions. (1) Station 17.50 - 60 sq. ft. of fill to 625 sq. ft. a. 12 ft. wide road with 2 ft. shoulder on either side. b. 16 ft. wide road with 2 ft. shoulder on either side. c. 16 ft. wide road with 4 ft. shoulder on either side. (2) Station 22.50 b. 35 sq. ft of fill. c. 355 sq. ft. of fill. (3) Station 27.50 a. 48 sq! ft. of fill. b. 128 sq. ft. of fill. c. 400 sq. ft of fill. The maximum lenght of the three areas is about 200 ft. The most critical area is about 35 to 40 ft. Denise Gardner was present in the audience and voiced her concearns with filling the minimum amount to protect the wetland. The concensus of the Commission was to write the Planning Board stating that the Commission would like to see them accept a 12 ft. wide road with 2 ft. shoulders on either side to minimize the amount of filling in a wetland. The minutes of December 19t 1985 were approved. 2. Planning Board Referral a. Jean Mayes - Macy Lane. The commission voted to send a letter stating that this area is not subject to protection under the Act. 3. Correspondence a. Lee Dunn read a segment from a MACC newsletter relating to the subject of more stringent septic system setback regulations being used by the Commission when they feel that Title V does not protect a critical area enough. 4. Other Business a. Warren's Landing - Bruce Watts has lacked the man power to anything but hopes to be able to burn soon. The meeting was adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
