LMi> Attending: Alice McWade, Rachel Rosen, Christy Kickh~fMt:k Roggeveen, Brian Chadwick, Maryanne Worth and Ann Medina Excused: John Belash, Jack Gardner. A positive motion to accept the minutes of October 5th was made, Dirk abstained from voting. This meeting is being held to set up the dates and times for the meetings. It was previously agreed that Tuesday and Thursday mornings 11:00 to 1:00 worked for everyone. Each agency will have 30 minutes to present their request and the last V2 hour will be for discussion. The first meeting will be on Tuesday November 14th at 11:00 and it will be at 2 Fairgrounds Road. There are no new agencies applying this year. The Nantucket Human Services Center did not apply this year. Sherburne Commons is applying for a chair lift for the van. The question of how the Island Health Plan was doing was asked. Maryanne told the committee that it was up and running on the Vineyard and doing well. There will be a trial run for a year there and then it will come to Nantucket. Nantucket was the only town that did not receive benefits from the Mass Rehab Commission. Kathi Hackett, from Martha's Vineyard Community Services worked to get them here and they will be working with Peter Swenson from Family & Children's; he will give them office space. The list of requests was handed out and there are 12 agencies (all repeats) requesting funding totaling $563,648.00. Maryanne asked if the committee would like to have John do a presentation on how to read the 990 forms and they agreed that this would be good especially for the two new members. The committee would also like to know if any Board of Director member is paid, who they are and how much they are paid. It was suggested that there be a form drawn up that states that any information is submitted under penalty of perjury is complete and correct to the best of their knowledge and then have it signed by a representative of each agency. This committee has an obligation to the town and members are not satisfied with some of the information that is submitted. The committee wants to know exactly how many people are served by an agency; (not that they served 1 person each quarter and then count that as 4 total if it is the same person). Maryanne did put in a supplemental budget request for $397,000 but right now we have to assume we will be working with the same amount as last year $331,000. The meeting adjourned at 1:00. Respectfully submitted by, . Ann Medina
