Minutes of the Meeting of August 23, 2006. The meeting took place in the c~rt
room of the Town and County Building, 16 Broad Street, Nantucket, MA 02554.
Members of the Board present were: Whitey Willauer, Brian Chadwick, Dougfcis
Bennett and Michael Kopko. Michael Glowacki was absent. Chairman Willauer
called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
Public Comment: There was no public comment.
Shuttle Service Announcements: Paula Leary, NRTA Administrator made the
following shuttle service announcements: The last day of Shuttle service on the
following routes is Monday, September 4th: Sconset via Milestone Road, Sconset
via Polpis Road, Surfside Beach Route, Jetties Beach Route and the Airport
Route. The last day to utilize the Elementary School Parking Lot as a Park and
Ride Lot is Monday, September 4th. Beginning Tuesday, September 5th the
Madaket Route will operate on a 60 minute schedule, leaving town on the hour
and Madaket on the half hour through September 17th. Beginning Monday,
September 11th the Mid Island and Miacomet Loops will operate on a 30 minute
schedule leaving town on the hour and half hour through October 9th. The
Sconset via Old South Road Route will operate through October 9th.
Approval of Minutes from June 21.2006 MeetinQ. Mr. Bennett moved approval
of the June 21,2006 minutes; seconded by Mr. Chadwick. So voted.
Contract Award for the ManaQement and Operation Services for Seasonal Fixed
Route Bus Service. Ms. Leary stated three proposals were received and
'evaluated based on established criteria and procurement guidelines, the
evaluation committee evaluated the proposals and the most advantageous
proposer was identified as VTS of MA, Inc. Price submissions were then opened
and negotiations were entered into with VTS of MA, Inc. Mr. Kopko asked how
many proposals were received and if VTS of MA, Inc. is the current contract. Ms.
Leary responded that three proposals were received and VTS of MA, Inc. has
been the contract since service began in 1995. Mr. Bennett moved to award the
contract for management and operation services of the NRT A's fixed route bus
service to VTS of MA, Inc. at the per operating hour 2007 - $42.66; 2008 -
$44.15; 2009 $45.69; 2010 - $47.29; 2011 - $48.71 and authorize the Chairman
to sign the contract; seconded by Mr. Chadwick. So Voted.
There being no other business before the Board the meeting was unanimously
adjourned at 6:03 p.m.
