HomeMy WebLinkAbout2022 ATM Summary-FINAL Town of Nantucket   OFFICE OF THE TOWN & COUNTY CLERK 16 Broad Street NANTUCKET, MASSACHUSETTS 02554-3590 May 2, 2022 ANNUAL TOWN MEETING – Nantucket High School The following is a summary of the articles called and discussed, and the vote taken by the 2022 Annual Town Meeting held at Nantucket High School on Monday, May 2, 2022 and May 3, 2022. Monday, May 2, 2022 - Meeting called to order at 5:00 p.m. Of 9,376 Registered Voters, 1050 were present for a 11 % voter turnout. Nantucket’s Annual Town Meeting does not have a quorum requirement. The Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts presented the colors and Bell Ringer, Bobby Planzer, led the Pledge of Allegiance and the National Anthem. Channel 18 livestreamed the proceedings. Option Technology’s electronic check-in services and hand- held voting devices were distributed and utilized throughout the course of this meeting. After the reading of the Return of the Warrant, a voice vote was held to accept the utilization of “Town Meeting Traditions and Procedures”, in addition to “Town Meeting Time”. The vote was unanimous. Next, a sample “practice” vote was held so that voters could familiarize themselves with the Option Technology devices. ************************************************************************************* The Moderator reviewed technical amendments for the following articles: 2, 4, 8, 21, 23, 54.
