AIRPORT COMMISSION MEETING
Executive Session Minutes
December 11,2018
The meeting was called to order at 6:45 pm by Chairman Daniel Drake with the following
Commissioners present: Andrea Planzer, Arthur Gasbarro, and Jeanette Topham.
The meeting took place in the 1"floor Community room at the Public Safety Facility,4 Fairgrounds Rd.
Nantucket, MA.
Airport employees present were: Thomas Rafter, Airport Manager and Katy Perales, Office Manager.
Review of Pending Minutes
Mr. Gasbarro made a Motion to approve, but not to release, the 11/13/18 Executive Session Minutes.
Second by Ms. Topham and Passed unanimously by the following roll-call vote:
Mr. Drake -Aye
Mr. Gasbarro -Aye
Ms. Topham -Aye
Ms. Planzer-Aye
Apron Area 3 Pavement Project
Mr. Rafter updated the Commission on the discussion with FAA at the CIP meeting regarding their
concern with the request to fund work that was recently completed and paid for through an AIP grant.
They denied the request for additional funding to fix the rutting on Apron Area 3. Airport Administration
is moving forward with testing to determine why the pavement is failing. This would include a forensic
analysis on the pavement and engineering of the project. Airport Administration has also discussed
project with Airport Counsel. Although the project is not closed out yet, beneficial occupancy was
determined in May 2018.
Based on the FAA response at the CIP meeting the Commission briefly discussed a lobbying effort to
help fund projects at the Airport through FAA and MassDOT funding.
Having no further business, Ms. Topham made a Motion to adjourn. Second by Mr. Bouscaren and
Passed unanimously by the following roll-call vote:

Ms. Planzer-Aye
