HomeMy WebLinkAbout2016-9-13 MEETING MINUTES C Nantucket Memorial Airport Commission Executive Session—September 13,2016 2021 ita. 23 The meeting took place at Town of Nantucket's Community Meeting Room, First Floor, 4 Fairgrounds Road,Nantucket,MA. Present: Airport Manager Tom Rafter Commissioner Anthony Bouscaren Chairman Daniel Drake Commissioner Andrea Planzer Vice Chair Arthur Gasbarro Commissioner Jeanette Topham Meeting called to order at 6:00 p.m. following an Open Session meeting by motion to enter executive session for the purposes enumerated on the meeting agenda per MGL c.30A section 21(a),clauses as listed below per topic,not to return to open session, approved by unanimous roll call. a). Review of the Executive Session Minutes as listed on the meeting Agenda. -Hold for future meeting due to pending matters that could be impacted negatively by release. b).Clause 6: Consideration of matters related to real property listed on A.L.P.Exhibit A, specifically the so-called Thompson House parcel. Legal counsel for both sides have agreed upon the draft documents to release all Land Bank interest in the property. There is an outstanding tax matter which Airport Counsel Mackey is working with the Town Finance Dept.to resolve. If Mackey is unable to make progress,Chairman Drake will contact the Town Manager. c). Clause 3 &6: Gatto vs.Town—Gatto made a settlement offer of$99k. Commission discussed the offer,and concerns that settling this case would result in a poor precedent. Gasbarro: Motion to inform Counsel Mackey that Planzer: Second Roll Call: Bouscaren—Aye, Drake—Aye, Gasbarro—Aye, Planzer—Aye,Topham-Aye d). Clause 6: Pending Litigation related to the closure of Island Air—Manager Rafter updated the Commission that settlement terms are actively being negotiated by the attorneys for each side. The matter is pending, and will be discussed at the next meeting.
