General Comments/Recommendations:
, ***HELD FOR REVISIONS from 5/4/21**
REPRESENTING- Tori Ewing, addressed previous concerns. Changed to projecting sign; measured existing
armature- 34" off building- showed new location, with updated colors- red to be tristams' red. Sign to have hole
in middle
Young- proposing projecting sign now. Asked about additional sign on existing bracket. Suggested both
armatures the same, match armature and height with existing armature and height for location.
Wolf- asked for measurements and bracket location
Normand- updated from wall to projecting-should go above head of window casing. A few boards up.
Kuester-top of sign should be 1 clapboard up from top of window casing. Great solution
Motion to approve with armature to be placed in identical elevation as existing and to match existing made by
Normand; seconded by Wolf.

Property Owner/Applicant Representing: David Cox
Address of Proposed Sign: 58 Main Street
Name on sign: David Chase
Type of sign (wall, projecting, free standing, other): Projecting
Location of sign (entrance, rear, side, other): Side
General Comments/Recommendations:
David Cox- reviewed meeting and minutes. Keep same height and plane over to corner of building. Exist bracket
above door will be removed. Position similar to Mitchell's Book Store. Sign needs to be replaced. Project 34
inches from building.
Kuester(acting Chair)- armature and placement was the concern. Should be mounted on inside of downspout.
Young-same perpendicular orientation.
Wolf- agrees with what's been said
Motion to Approve thru Staff with armature design with 34" sign located at same height as existing, inside the
downspout made by Young; seconded by Wolf.

Property Owner/Applicant Representing: Town of Nantucket/ Erika Mooney, Janel Schulte
Address of Proposed Sign: 15 Harbor View Way
Name on sign: Expedition Blue
Type of sign (wall, projecting, free standing, other): other
Location of sign (entrance, rear, side, other): other
General Comments/Recommendations:
Erika Mooney, Operations Administrator; Janet Schulte, Director of Culture and Tourism; Educational
panel around the Cape and Islands shows impact of Ocean on local economy. Sign has 25-year lifespan. Design
of structure reflects fishing shacks along National Seashore. Approved by HDC. Color matches others- explained
the three signs and location on structure.
Normand - likes location by the playground- sign modern. Feels that HDC approved forcing the SAC to approve.
Not historic. Ask if timeline- prefers if it could be more historically sensitive
Wolf-shocked HDC approved structure to hang signs. Nothing is approvable from SAC viewpoint. Concerned
about setting a precedent.
Young- agrees with Wolf. Does not meet public information sign requirements. Concerned about precedent.
Kuester(acting Chair)-agrees with what's been said. Suggests looking at Sankaty Light- mounted at ground
level. Perhaps adapt graphics, does not fit the guidelines. Suggest revisions or withdraw. Corporations fit their
fonts/logos to fit the SAC guidelines.
Staff offered extension or withdraw.
Mooney-would prefer withdrawing.
Motion to withdraw without prejudice made by Young; seconded by Normand.
