CALENDAR OF EVENTS
We continue to make modifications to our
activities calendar in efforts to follow best-
care practices as recommended state and
federal agencies that reflect evolving
standards and regulations surrounding
COVID-19.
Daily, we continue to offer numerous
independent, 1:1, and small group activity
options, including: Coloring page; Word
search and trivia worksheets; Exploring old
Nantucket picture books; Crafting such as
knitting, crocheting, and more; Reading
letters sent to us from our Nantucket
community members; Bible study; 1:1 time
with staff members for support and comfort;
listening to music, and more. In addition to
the above activities, our residents have kept
busy playing on our tablets, spending time
outside, playing ball toss, writing to their 3rd
Grade Pen Pals at the Lighthouse School,
enjoying virtual groups such as Book Club,
“Our Island Kids and Animals”, attending
church on the weekends, and playing games
like Live Jeopardy!
Starting in June, a few familiar faces will be
joining us again on a regular basis: Sallyanne
Austin for Haircuts, Jim Sulzer for Guitar
Performances, Susan Richards for pet visits
her dog Gwen, and Rev. Georgia Snell for
church/Bible study!

The second round of facilitated

community. These facilitated meetings
concluded the end of April 2021. A
review of these meetings, along with
prior meetings, was held on May 26th
with the SelectBoard and will be
utilized to determine the best direction
the Town should procced in for the
future of Our Island Home on
Nantucket.
