There will be a carved edge in white around the sign. Times Roman is the font Wolf- questioned color and location. There are two front doors. Kuester- asked about edge banding. Font will be hard to carve. Confirm the color. Would like the plans to include the edge and the font. Cutone- asked how the signs will be carved. C and C machines can get really "fine" detail. Prefers the font proposed. Times Roman is also acceptable. Would prefer a squared edge. Like size and color. Normand- likes the signs. no concerns. Young- should submit a Master Sign Plan. Motion to Hold for Revisions with the contrasting border in white and squaring off the sign with edge detail made by Cutone; seconded by Kuester. 4-1 Cutone, Kuester, Wolf and Young- aye Normand- naye Sign Advisory Council Comment Sheet Date: 4/27/21 ''''"'needs another application* Members present: Chris Young, Ben Normand,Mark Cutone; Paul Wolf and Kevin Kuester Applicant: 29 CENTER ST LLC Representing: Mike Caggiano, President Plymouth Sign Company Address of proposed sign 11 India Street Sign Name: The Roberts House Type of proposed sign ( X )Wall Mount ( )Projecting ( )Free standing( )Rock ( )Other Location (on property) of proposed sign: (X )Entrance to building ( )Rear of building ( )Side elevation ( N )Other Comments/Recommendations: Caggiano-presented project. Cutone- no concern with India Street entrance sign. Secondary sign should be scaled to the width of the opening. Should be 42 inches in length. Mounted on head casing or clapboard. Same revised changes with the previous Gate House Application. Normand- agrees with what's been said. Wolf- agrees with what's been said. Kuester- agrees, no comment Young-agrees, no comment. The sign should be no wider than the outside of those casings of the doorway. ***needs another application*** Motion to Hold for Revisions per comments revising it to be consistent with the Gate House sign and reduce to 42 inches made by Cutone; seconded by Wolf. 5-0 Cutone, Kuester, Wolf,Normand and Young-aye Sign Advisory Council Comment Sheet Date: 4/27/21 Members present: Chris Young, Ben Normand,Mark Cutone, Paul Wolf and Kevin Kuester Applicant: 29 CENTER ST LLC Representing: Mike Caggiano, President Plymouth Sign Company Address of proposed sign 31 Center street Sign Name: The Manor House Type of proposed sign ( X )Wall Mount ( )Projecting ()Free standing( )Rock ( )Other Location (on property) of proposed sign: (X )Entrance to building ( )Rear of building ( )Side elevation ( )Other Comments/Recommendations: Caggiano- presented project. Kuester- He feels they want them all the same size but the SAC might not want them all the same size. Wolf-no comment Normand-feels what is shown is wider than inches. Fine with proposed. Cutone-agrees with Normand. Prefer the scale is appropriate with porch. This one could be larger. Young- asked for better dimension of sign. Letters are applied. Suggested another quarter board or projecting sign (inaudible). Kuester- location is not appropriate, 1/4 inch aluminum letters are not appropriate. Scale is too small- not right location. Should be over the door. Wolf-agrees with Kuester. Cutone- agrees with what's been said. Normand-agrees- asked to bring local examples. Not relating to it, feels like a ski-chalet. Can't think of any local examples. Young-No examples exist- applied letters are rarely approvable. Better location, material and design. This is not an approvable sign. Perhaps quarter board or projecting sign. Carved sign attached to a post with a light. Young- looks like attached to a hedge. Should be a freestanding sign application-which are not allowed. Sign needs to be re-considered. This sign does not give direction to location of business Normand- likes the sign design, sees in bedded in privet in season. Not as a freestanding with light over it. Does not like the freestanding post issue. Likes the nautical design. Cutone- likes the font, armature is questionable. Will look like a free -standing sign in privet. Reconsider a white or linen background. Armature has to be reconsidered. Questioned the name of the restaurant on the site and perhaps a menu box will be submitted in the future. Wolf-agrees with what's been said. Kuester- commented on pink background. Missing edge detail. Not located near entrance. Pole with light over it but not appropriate. A take-out window. Maybe alternative to put over window like the others. Wolf- suggested a projecting sign. suggested to say Coffee Shop Normand- not in favor. Not appropriate Cutone- should be held for revisions. suggested small menu box. Fine with the location. Prefers Left to the window. Thinks it's more understated. Maybe merge menu box with sign. Kuester-would be setting a precedent if using a sign as an "offering". Emphasized lighting on applications. should be clear. Ensure existing signs are either removed or added with Master Sign Plan.
