HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC 2005-9-28 COUNTY COMMISSIONERS Minutes of the meeting of 28 September 2005 at 7:00 PM. The meeting took place in the Court Room, Town and County Building, 16 Broad Street, Nantucket, MA 02554. Members of the Commission present were Bruce Watts, Michael Glowacki, Whiting Willauer, Brian Chadwick and Douglas Bennett. Chairman Watts called the meeting to order at 10:15 PM following a meeting of the Board of Selectmen. Approval of Minutes of 31 August at 7:00 PM and 7 September 2005 at 7:00 PM. The Commission approved the minutes of 31 August 2005 by unanimous consent. The Commission approved the minutes of 7 September 2005 by unanimous consent. Approval of Payroll Warrant for September 2005. The Commission approved the payroll warrant by unanimous consent. Approval of Treasury Warrant for September 2005. The Commission approved the treasury warrant by unanimous consent. Citizen Request for Assent to Land Court Petition Concerning Property Located at 5 Lauretta Lane. Attorney Melissa Philbrick spoke on behalf of 5 Lauretta Lane property owners David B. Poor and Patricia M. Beilman regarding a shared boundary line with the County of Nantucket. Mr. Chadwick moved to assent to the petition for approval of the plan for the subdivision as shown on Land Court Plan No. 16220-W as endorsed by the Planning Board on August 25, 2003. Mr. Glowacki seconded. So voted unanimously. Citizen Request for Acceptance of Gift of Trees to be Planted Along 85 Baxter Road in County Right-of- Way. Department of Public Works Director Jeff Willett noted he had no objections to the proposal. Island resident Catherine Stover voiced concerns. Mr. Chadwick spoke in favor of trees being planted close to the existing hedge and Sconset Gardner representative John Freil spoke on the proposed placement of the trees due to erosion on the ocean side of the property. Mr. Glowacki moved to accept the gift of the trees to be relocated to the public right-of-way. Mr. Chadwick seconded. So voted unanimously. Public Hearing, Pursuant to Section 2.5 of the Nantucket County Charter, Concerning Proposed Real Estate Acquisitions at 52 Vesper Lane and 20 Nobadeer Farm Road. Planning Director Andrew Vorce spoke in favor of the acquisitions. No one voiced opposition. Chairman Watts closed the Public Hearing. Mr. Chadwick moved to accept the temporary easement granted by Angus and Melissa MacVicar for sidewalk construction purposes at 52 Vesper Lane and to send a letter of thanks. Mr. Glowacki seconded. So voted unanimously. Mr. Chadwick moved to accept two permanent easements for bike path and/or sidewalk purposes and one permanent easement for road way purposes granted by Richard Feodoroff, Trustee of Nobadeer Realty Trust, at 20 Nobadeer Farm Road and to send a letter of thanks. Mr. Bennett seconded. So voted unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 10:25 PM. Approved the 26th day of October 2005.
