III. New Business
1. Town of Nantucket 49 Main Street Stand Nant direction sign N/A Rob McNeil
Representing-Mark Voight,DPW Town of Nantucket;Requested by the Sconset Civic
Association. The intent is to be a scenic piece of the park. Will match other standard Nantucket
directional signs;typical sign for entry way into villages.
Cutone-Feels heavy for that location. Thinks it should sit lower. Needs a softer gently approach.
He likes Youngs suggestion to move on right side.
Normand-Looks like it has always been there.Agrees with Cutone,it could be lower. Such a
standard sign. He has no concerns. Suggests Sconset Advisory Board review.
Kuester-Agrees with Cutone. Two posts are a little overwhelming. Should be similar to existing sign
on the other end of the village but smaller,on a single post.
Young- Same concerns. The other sign is more discreet.Asked the others what they thought about
being located on the right side of the road with arrow pointing straight. Doesn't like the idea of blocking
the vista of the park. The right side of the road is more appropriate
Motion to for more information and further review from Sconset Advisory Board-made by
Kuester;Seconded by Normand.
