MINUTES
Tuesday August 18, 2020
This meeting was held via remote participation (using ZOOM recording
feature) Pursuant to Governor Baker's March 12, 2020 Order Regarding the
Open Meeting Law.
I. Procedural Business
Call to order: This meeting was conducted via Zoom and called to order by Chris Young,
Chairman, at 9:00 am. This meeting was recorded on Zoom video.
Attending members: Chris Young (Chair), Paul Wolf and Kevin Kuester
Staff in attendance: Cathy Flynn,Land Use Specialist
Absent members: Ben Normand and Mark Cutone
Late arrivals: None
Early Departures: None
Motion to Adopt Agenda made by Paul Wolf; Seconded by Kevin Kuester.

Staff-Revised free-standing sign to a fence sign and changed size from 3'x2' to 2'x2'
Kuester-Thinks it was an improvement from before-no concerns.Scalloped corners are deep.Perhaps
extend the sign.
Young- He has not applied for a sign on the building.Any second sign application to be
accompanied by a Master Sign Plan.
Wolf-No Concerns.

3 Enforcement—
27 Easy Street,Land Bank-received a Citizens Complaint about sign. Does not feel the need
to enforce given what's going on. has a rendering. Comcast has removed the sandwich sign
on Monomoy Road.
IV. Other Business/ Preliminary Review (if applicable)
• Discussion of proliferation of signs-
Life Saving Museum added fencing and might be adding signs in the future.
• Discussion and vote of Sign statement-
Kuester-Explained what language was added.Concerned there was no link to the Sign Guidelines.
Staff-Has been reviewed by Leslie Snell,Deputy Director of Planning. Thought was appropriate.The
HDC Chair gave it a positive recommendation.
Wolf-What happens next.
Young-Suggested the three present members vote.
Motion to Approve updated Sign Statement for town administration to review Made by Wolf;
Seconded by Kuester.Carried 3-0//Wolf,Kuester and Young-aye.
