III. New Business
Property owner name Street Address Scope of work Map/Parcel Agent
1. Island Gas,LLC 11 Industry Road Public Information/freestanding 69/295 David McDougal
Representing-David McDougal;area will be more of a"complex";emergency number required by
the state.Asked if he could keep all three business on sign without numbers.
Kuester-ways to identify-put smaller sign on fence instead a free-standing sign.Thinks this could be
accomplished on the fence instead of the building.
Young-this is not a "public information sign". That applies to anything other than advertising a
business. Island Energy Services as a wall sign or quarter-board on building identifying, and on gate
list the hours of operation.According to guidelines, hours are not listed.Would make an exception
due to the nature of the business.Put in a more discreet location.Would prefer ombining Harbor
Fuel and Yates Gas,but not listing"brands".
Wolf-Agrees with what has been said.Existing sign too cluttered.Generally,no addresses, phone numbers
and hours of operations.Asked how many entrances to the site.Offered a solution for fence sign
placement.Companies have recently merged and the public may not be aware.
Motion to Hold for Revisions made by Wolf; Seconded Kuester.
Carried 3-0//Wolf,Kuester and Young-aye

IV. Other Business/ Preliminary Review(if applicable)
• Discussion of proliferation of signs-
Staff-Maybe discuss the certain signs with the HDC. Like"go whalers",etc.
Wolf- Some are out of control.
Young-Maybe HDC to send a letter to Select Board requesting some type of deadline
with the understanding that the guidelines need to be enforced. Does not suggest any
direct enforcement to an individual or entity. Every organization is seeing this as an
opportunity.Would like to reach out with a letter to certain organizations to engage in
a conversation.
Kuester- thinks they should put the"pause button"until after the season. Would like
to wait until late fall to revisit.
• Discussion of Sign statement written by Town Administration-
Staff-Will have to discuss with Deputy Director.
Wolf- no comment.
Young-Would like to modify statement
Kuester-Not happy with description on the town website. The HDC Chair was not
aware of statement. Is willing to write a response.
V. Adjournment
