NANTUCKET PLANNING AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION
MONDAY, JULY 14, 2008

5 Members Present @ 6:15 PM, 6 @ 6:30 PM, then 7 Members @ 6:45,

MassHyw Consultants: Rt-of-Way Presentation: Pam Prentiss, Linda Walsh
Audience Present: Frank Spriggs, John West, Rick Atherton, Cormac Collier
I. Call to Order Chairman Lowell called the meeting to order at 6:15 PM.
II. Establishment of Quorum The Chairman declared no quorum was present,
however a quorum was present @ 6:45 PM.
III. Approval of Agenda – No Quorum
IV. Public Comment – None at this point
V. Discussion Items Only, No Actions Needed
A. Presentation by MassHwy on Right-of-Way Process
The discussion included:
Vote of ATM is just the start of the process. It usually takes 3-5 years to
complete a project, and that is good timing.
The need to get Masshwy involved at the beginning
Go for Federal Aid & Certificate so all possible issues are addressed
A Rt-of-Way certification was explained
Masshwy accepts lease agreements, but not licenses
Next project probably is Nobadeer Rd bike path
Notify property owners at the beginning,
but negotiations not prior to 75% design stage
If there are further questions please contact Transportation Planner,
Mike Burns.

Cliff Rd a lot of Rt-of-Way issues, design work unfunded by Town

Schedule shows projects that have been shifted around

This is the schedule of work for each fiscal year,
with the budget funded by task

VII. Adjournment:
The motion was made by Linda Williams and seconded that the NP&EDC
does hereby adjourn the meeting.
The vote was unanimous.
The Chairman adjourned the meeting at 7:05 PM.
