Discussion Item Only, No Votes to be Taken: Hummock Pond Road Bike Path The discussion included: The project to be done in phases, (possibly 5) Phases should conform to TIP funding targets Fall 2008 / Fall & Winter 2009 Look at rare plants, property issues, utilities, wetlands Alignment along south East side of Hummock Pond Road Takings will be necessary Least impacts to residents, since a lot of the land is owned by the Land Bank, Hummock Pond Association etc. Will have to look at curb cuts May have to cross the road. 10’ wide bike path is the minimum standard The bike paths have multiple uses, not just bike riders 3’ of grass separation between the road and the edge of bike path through the wetlands Dirk R. is puling files to see if there are any concerns Have to be concerned with site distances Have to look at the cemeteries May have an 8’ sidewalk instead of a bike path along Milk Street & Hummock Pond Road between Milk & Joy Streets Keep the rock & flagpole at the triangle Some Funds maybe available from Planning Board subdivision approvals Bike path access the parking lot at the beach was discussed The consensus was: to support the conceptual design minimize the number of “road crossings” needed IV. Adjournment The motion was made by Michael Kopko and seconded that the County Commissioners adjourn their meeting. The vote was unanimous. Chairman Chadwick adjourned the meeting @ 2:45PM.
