In attendance were committee mem-bers H. Flint Ranney, Whitey Willauer, Peter Morrison, Zachary Dusseau, Ian Golding and Ken Black-shaw; absent were Anne Kuszpa, John Stover, and Chris Magee. Also present were the Town’s Alternative Energy Outreach Coordinator Lauren Sinatra, who acted as the meeting Facilitator. Discussion centered around how and what to present to the BOS on January 4, 2012, several of whom are apparently unaware of previous BOS votes approving of this committee and its direction; contents of a proposed 1/2 page ad in the Inquirer and Mirror for December 22 and 29 with public information on the NESC’s efforts and encouraging public attendance and comment at the January 4 BOS meeting; prepara-tion and promulgation of an RFP for the Madaket Wind Turbine. Peter Morrison suggested that the Capital Program Committee be encouraged to move the Madaket Wind Turbine project higher on their priority list, considering the immediate investment return and its likely positive effect on the Town’s municipal credit rating. Lauren suggested that Committee members log into and comment on our blog: http://www.Madake-twind.org. Most outside comments appear to be negative and need clarification. Flint suggested a priority list for NESC’s future to be presented to the BOS. NESC priority list suggestions 1. Energy savings education (WPI ideas); 2. Madaket Wind Turbine; 3. WWTP solar project; 4. Airport solar project; 5. research on feasibility of Gasification at Landfill; 6. Tidal generators feasibility research; 7. Municipal Aggregate Co-op possibility for Island. It is hoped that BOS will encourage NESC to continue its efforts, allow a Town Meeting warrant article to let voters decide if they wish to pursue the Madaket Wind Turbine, with or without a positive BOS recom-mendation. Lauren agreed to flesh out the priorities and the I&M advertisement and email copies to NESC members. Meeting adjourned at 6:30PM. Respectfully submitted, DRAFT H.
