Ab-sent were Barbara Gookin, H. Flint Ranney, and Whitey Willauer. Also in attendance was Robert Patterson and an Inquirer and Mirror reporter. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Kuszpa at 5:07 pm. The agenda and minutes were approved unanimously. The Committee discussed the public outreach meeting held in Madaket on January 31 concerning the proposed wind turbine to be located at the landfill. Those who attended agreed that it went well. Approxi-mately 28 members of the public attended. The presentation is to be put on the website by Gregg Tivnan. Barbara sent the press release. Peter Morrison will write a thank you letter to Bill Grieder, and send it to Flint for printing on proper letterhead, and Anne will sign and send the letter. The next steps for public outreach were also discussed, including contacting the Civic League for distribution of the presentation and hosting a presentation of the Town Meeting article at the annual Meet the Articles event, holding one or two additional public presentations, televising one of the presentations on the PEG channel, includ-ing the events in the Gene Mahon newsletter. Chris agreed to formulate some frequently asked questions about the project and wind energy for inclusion on the website. Anne reported that the solar project’s RFP was nearly ready, and should be advertised next week. The projects should be ready for implementation in September or October 2011. Anne also reported on the status of the Climate Action Plan, saying that a request to continue involving the Committee in the review process was sent to Town Administration. Robert Patterson suggested that any comments be sent to Andrew Vorce. Mike Burns mentioned that the EOEA Secretary David Cash offered to visit the island to present the Commonwealth’s Climate Plan, and will forward the date if the event can be scheduled. In other business, Anne suggested delegating project responsibility to members. Mike agreed to take the Climate Plan, Chris took the frequently asked questions for the website, Flint would take solar, and Bar-bara would take public outreach issues. Peter suggested checking on the technology options for the wind turbine, specifically noting the need for a product matrix with attributes that would help the decision making process. Peter will ask Gregg if this will be included in the deliverable. Peter also mentioned that he had an idea for a special WPI project in June related to researching commer-cial energy blocks, and will be coordinating with WPI students if there is interest. Robert Patterson asked when the public could access at the high schools wind data. The meeting was adjourned at 6:39 pm. Mike Burns, acting for DRAFT H. Flint Ranney, Secretary
