Minutes of the Meeting of 25 October 2007 at 6:00 PM. The meeting took place in the Court
Room, Town and County Building, Nantucket, MA 02554. Members of the Commission present
were Brian Chadwick, Michael Kopko, Allen Reinhard, Whiting Willauer and Patricia Roggeveen.
Chairman Chadwick called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM.
Announcements/Public Comment. None.
Approval of Minutes of 26 September 2007 at 6:00 PM. The Commission approved the minutes by
unanimous consent.
Approval of Payroll and Treasury Warrants for October 2007. Chairman Chadwick suggested that a
$10,000 expenditure for dive equipment from the Sheriff’s department that was held over from the
September, 2007 warrant, be approved. The Commission approved the warrants by unanimous
consent.
PUBLIC HEARING
Public Hearing to Consider Acceptance of Sidewalk Easement Over Portions of South Beach
Street and Sea Street. Mr. Reinhard moved to accept the easement from Nantucket Island
Resorts, as per a requirement of the Planning Board in connection with a development in the area.
Mr. Kopko seconded, so voted.
COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR/COMMISSIONERS REPORT
Ratification of Determination Regarding Financial Interest Disclosure for Nantucket Member of
Steamship Authority. Chairman Chadwick explained Nantucket’s Steamship Authority
representative H. Flint Ranney requested the Board’s consideration at the recommendation of the
State Ethics Commission, as the SSA Board will be discussing changing certain benefits for SSA
employees and board members and therefore Mr. Ranney has a direct financial interest in the
outcome of such discussions. Mr. Kopko moved to find that Mr. Ranney’s interest in the matter is
not so substantial as to be deemed likely to affect the integrity of his services to the Town or SSA
Board; Mr. Reinhard seconded, so voted.
The meeting was unanimously adjourned at 6:12 PM.
