Minutes of the Meeting of 22 August 2007 at 6:00 PM. The meeting took place in the Court Room,
Town and County Building, Nantucket, MA 02554. Members of the Commission present were Brian
Chadwick, Michael Kopko, Allen Reinhard, Whiting Willauer and Patricia Roggeveen. Chairman
Chadwick called the meeting to order at 8:39 PM following a Board of Selectmen meeting.
Announcements/Public Comment. None.
Approval of Minutes of 25 July 2007 at 6:00 PM. The Commission approved the minutes by
unanimous consent.
Approval of Payroll and Treasury Warrants for August 2007. The Commission approved the
warrants by unanimous consent.
PUBLIC HEARINGS
1. Public Hearing to Consider Discontinuance/Alteration of the Order of Taking for a Portion of
Tennessee Avenue. Andrew Vorce, Planning Director explained the difference between the original
taking plan and the plan before the Commissioners for approval. Mr. Vorce stated the taking plan
differed from the original 1914 plan in certain areas by approximately 12” to 18”. Chairman
Chadwick noted the new taking plan effects approximately six to eight properties and issues like
this echo the need for a Town surveyor. Mr. Reinhard concurred. Mr. Reinhard moved to close the
public hearing, Mr. Kopko seconded, so voted unanimously. Chairman Chadwick moved to
approve the taking as shown on the order plan entitled “Discontinuance of a Part of Tennessee
Avenue,” dated August 21, 2007, prepared by Nantucket Surveyors LLC (the “Plan”) and filed with
the Land Court. Ms. Roggeveen seconded, so voted unanimously.
COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR/COMMISSIONERS REPORT
1. Request for Adoption of Pre-Disaster Mitigation Plan. Chairman Chadwick noted the Pre-
Disaster Mitigation Plan was discussed at the August 22, 2007 Board of Selectmen’s meeting and
needs to be approved by County Commissioners as well. Mr. Kopko moved to approve, Mr.
Reinhard seconded, so voted unanimously.
The meeting was unanimously adjourned at 8:55 PM.
