HomeMy WebLinkAboutCounty Commission Minutes 06-27-2007_201402051727256347COUNTY COMMISSION Minutes of the Meeting of 27 June 2007 at 6:00 PM. The meeting took place in the Court Room, Town and County Building, Nantucket, MA 02554. Members of the Commission present were Brian Chadwick, Michael Kopko, Allen Reinhard and Whiting Willauer. Patricia Roggeveen was absent. Chairman Chadwick called the meeting to order at 7:05 PM following a meeting of the Board of Health. Announcements/Public Comment. None. Approval of Minutes of 23 May 2007 at 6:00 PM. The Commission approved the minutes by unanimous consent. Approval of Payroll and Treasury Warrants for June 2007. The Commission approved the warrants by unanimous consent. Public Hearings 1. Public Hearing to Consider Grant of Easement to National Grid at 62 Fairgrounds Road for Utility Installations. Chairman Chadwick opened the public hearing and reviewed the matter, noting that the roadway and bicycle path surface will be unaffected by the work of the utility company. Attorney Marianne Hanley, representing the Nantucket Lighthouse School further explained the reason for the request for the grant of easement for the area that overlaps a portion of the easement of the bicycle path. Chairman Chadwick closed the public hearing. Mr. Kopko moved to approve the easement from the County to National Grid (Nantucket Electric Company) to allow for placement of a transformer and primary cable to service the Nantucket Lighthouse School at 62 Fairgrounds Road with the understanding that the work will not affect the roadway or bicycle surfaces. Chairman Chadwick seconded. So voted unanimously. 2. Public Hearing to Consider Grant of Easement in Conjunction with Planning Board Conditions of Approval of Rosemary Way Subdivision. Chairman Chadwick opened the public hearing and County Administrator C. Elizabeth Gibson reviewed the matter. Chairman Chadwick closed the public hearing. Mr. Willauer moved to accept the easement granted by Mark S. Fleming for passage by foot or bicycle over a portion of a subdivision roadway called Rosemary Way (Lot 773) of Land Court Plan No. 16514-72 and for the use, improvement and/or maintenance for drainage purposes and for passage by foot or bicycle over a portion of a subdivision roadway called Rosemary Way (Lot 773) and that portion of Lot 772 of the subdivision in accordance with the Planning Board decision in File No. 6930. Mr. Reinhard seconded. So voted unanimously. Citizen/Departmental Requests 1. Request for Approval of Land Court Plan for Property at Nobadeer Farm Road and Rosemary Way. Ms. Gibson reviewed the matter (related to the above-described grant of easement), noting that departmental and Town Counsel review of the S-Petition has occurred and that a stipulation as recommended by Town Counsel has been done previously in similar cases to the effect that the new description of the registered parcel will define the Nobadeer Farm Road boundary “by the line of the way.” Mr. Willauer moved to accept the petition and to approve the stipulation. Mr. Kopko seconded. So voted unanimously. County Administrator/Commissioner Reports 1. County Administration: Request for Acceptance of Funding for Law Enforcement-Related Equipment from Sheriff’s Department. Ms. Gibson explained that the Sheriff has provided funding for the Town’s emergency operations center and dispatch software for the Fire Department as well as a used vehicle to be utilized for inspections and a number of firearms and associated equipment to the Police Department, all of which is considered law-enforcement related. Mr. Willauer moved to approve the acceptance of finding and equipment. Mr. Kopko seconded. So voted unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 7:10 PM. Approved the 25th day of July 2007.
